About 10 years ago i built a conservatory, and extended the ring main from the dining room into the conservatory. I also put in a cheap outdoor socket spurred from one of the double sockets in the conservatory, via an RCD.
In the last year, i've bought a much better double outdoor socket, and replaced the old thing, and it's been fine until this weekend. Firstly i wanted to cut up a pallet with my circular saw plugged in to the outdoor socket, and did most of it, but it tripped after about 10 mins....and then every time i reset it. The next day we tried the lawnmower, and got by for about 5 minutes, and it tripped....
Today, the wife decided to hoover the decking (don't ask!!!! ) and the hoover ( a Henry) survived fine.....
So any ideas why it might be tripping?
