Hi all,
Come across something i've been asked to sort for a customer i'm doing a stack of work for, they live in an edwardian place, 9inch solid walls, they've had the side door (external) bricked up in a single skin (4 inch) of soft reds to match the existing walls, this leaves a long corridor in the house now for them to put in a downstairs cloakroom with the loo backing onto the new bricked up doorway and the waste going out through it (already core drilled and 4inch waste goes into the new soil stack outside).
They want it all plastered now, i've pretty much done the whole house except for this little bit but i'm not sure what to do about the fact that it's a single skin (4inch) wall, shall i try and create a cavity with stud and vapour check board that i can insulate?
by the way, i'm only a spread, you know how these things go, customers see you're quite handy and have some knowledge and throw more and more at you until eventually you come across something you don't know how to tackle so thought i'd come to the obvious place.
any advice welcome and greatly appreciated.
