Hi,

I've seen door liner kits in B&Q and was thinking that might be easier for me to use when creating a partition wall, one question I have is:

Say I build a stud wall with 38mm x 63mm timber and two sheets of 12.5mm plasterboard (no skim).

The smallest kit I've seen is 108mm thick, which would leave 10mm either side of the door.

Obviously the architrave will not sit flat when fitted so, would I rip cut the kit to size or is there some joiner trick to get round this.

Cheers,

try wickes they do narrower ones, we have just put a doorway in a stud partition wall, we used 47 x 47 timber, 12.5mm plasterboards and then the plaster skim on the top brought it level.

got round it, used 50x75mm studwork with two sheets of 12.5mm plasterboard, worked out perfectly.

Muzz.
