i had a quick couple of questions about a doorstep replacement.
the old wood one was proper rotten - got a timber yard to cut a like replacement. going to paint it white gloss to match the front door.
ive been doing a bit of research and wondered if these points were right:
do i need to raise it off the ground with shims?
or put down a piece of DPM?
if i paint the whole thing, front back under and top in gloss before i fix it to place will that waterproof it sufficently?
should i fix with just a couple of screws and rawlplugs to the concrete base?
