Hi guys,

Does anyone know if doubling up the green fibre board under laminate is acceptable or has anyone done it and now it's ruined the floor?

Doesn't seem too make much difference, squishy wise on a few off cuts although that's not the same as really doing it.

Appreciate its not ideal but it would get our floors at the right level, really can't afford to plywood it first at the mo. If you all say its a crazy idea then ill find the cash somewhere!

Any advice appreciated,

Zeb

I did this when I lived in a flat to try and reduce the sound downstairs and also to improve levels.

The first Layer of fibre board I butted up tight to each other and nailed down. The second layer I layed with the gaps as per instuctions. Never had an issue with it.
