hi I am fininshing off an extension joining onto an existing older building. The extension is yanked and the architect has spec'd Marley Dampseal for the dpm which will sit under 60mm of Kingspan and 75 mm of screed. A laminate wll be glued onto that.
He has als psec'd marley dampseal ontop of an old conrete floor in the older building whch again will have kingspan and scree above it.
2 questions:
1) isnt marley dampseal a bit OTT for the older building dpm as it isnt under ground level in anyway? can we just use black visqueen or something like that?
2) the drawings show that kingspan inside the drylining (where present) will come down and meet the insulation under the screed so the screed is totally floating.
2 of the internal walls in the older building will be left as bare stone, should be put something between the screed and the stonework there so it is floating all the way round - if so what? and how thick?
best
