Hello stumped by why none of the drain valves seem to drain. All rads full and vents show water if opened. Valves are all downstairs at the lower points, but on opening any of the three, nothing ?.

Its been a while since last drained but if i recall there was no problems last time.

Any suggestions as waiting to drain from the air valve is a tad long.

If you dont open a valve every 2-3 months then they tend to get stuck !

I would not fit a drain cock myself because they are not well designed for very occasional use.

When you open them if they stick give them a little tap on the side the washer sticks and this sometimes frees them,Also if it has a locking nut on top remove it to allow spindle to come out further..... cheap draincocks are a waste of time .

Agile so what Heath Robinson configuration do you use if you dont fit d/cocks. I bet it looks lovely in someones living room

I favour two full flow valves terminated at the outside.

They can be used for draining or power flushing without any problem marking carpets.
