Hi
I would like a conservatory built in the near future the problem is that a drain/manhole cover is in the way and this needs moving by a foot/300mm etc due to the brick work crossing it.
The question is do I require planning permission/regs or do I require anything else like informing the council?

Pop down to your local building control office with a rough drawing and they will help you with the answer. Don't be frighten of them, they are very helpful and it's free advice ! See this, regarding building permission, most conseratory don't need permission but check first.
