I am having a complete new CH system installed in 3 weeks time (at last!!) I am replacing an old primatic system. I have some problems with radiator valves leaking now. Is it possible to drain the radiators to stop the leaks and still have hot water?

Thanks

No would be the normal answer whereas maybe be would be the correct one.

IF you have an immersion heater fitted, then it's possible to drain the boiler and radiators, disconnect the primary pipes at the cylinder and cap them,. The cylinder can then be refilled and used on the immersion heater.

Warning; the boiler must be made safe so it dont get switch on accidentaly
