Hi all,
I've got two parking spaces. One is cracked, but stable concrete ~100mm thick. The other is soil with some MOT type 1 sprinkled over it. I had good intentions of digging these both out and starting from scratch.
I broke off the corner of the concrete slab to see how easy it would be to remove. Someone has thrown some smashed up asbestos cement board into the hardcore. Not the first time I've encountered this in this house. Thanks! Anyway, I'm not about to throw it in a skip and plead ignorance.
I can get away raising the level of the drive by 80mm, so I was thinking of putting sand and setts over the concrete. What I'm unsure of is, what I'm best doing with the other half of the drive, concrete it, whack the life out of some subbase. I want to do a proper job. Any thoughts on how this could go horribly wrong are appreciated!
