Hi

Im intending to extend part of my drive way, currently the drive is elevated by about 5inches with the lawn right next to it. I want to just slightly extend the driveway by about a meter.

My question is whats best to use to 1 stop the soil from falling into where i want to lay my base and 2 to stop the concrete from falling on to the grass?

Also im intending to dig out 200mm making sure the ground isnt too softt soft, then compact it then lay 170mm of scalpings then compact the scalpings then concrete it over. Is this a recommended method or have I totally cocked it up??

If anyone has any suggestions on another method to use please post

Cheers

your methods so far sound ok to me.

use concrete edgings as a restraining kerb.

do i need to do anything about damp proofing etc? its just ive seen others talking about this. If so what should I use.

thank u

there is no need to damp proof a drive.

if the drive paving abuts a building then it needs to be 150mm below dpc.
