I am drylining my kitchen.

Existing plaster on brick with 25 x 50 battons and 25mm jablite insulation board and 12.5 mm plasterboard.

Do I need foil backed plaster board to reduce moisture and mould?

Personally I wouldn't bother, I would however fit some ply or OSB to the walls before plaster boarding more so if cabinets are being hung there.

With battens on 400mm centers and a foam bond between fixings I would opt for 12mm ply or 18mm osb. A good fat woodscrew into that will hold lots of weight.
