Dual F type faceplate issues

Has anyone fitted an F type faceplate and found it has damaged their LNB? As soon as I fitted it to my second SKY feed I was getting no signal messages. However it settled and both feeds worked. Now it's completely gone.

Is it something I've done, or just coincidence?

Thanks for the info. I had one of the 'dodgy' faceplates. It was sold to me by Maplin, cheeky gits! I've got rid, and have ordered F type barrels that I'll use to make a custom plate. Basically just one length of cable joined to another, albeit with a blanking plate in the middle, fixed to the wall.

That should work perfectly as long as you avoid kinking the cable.

Lots of "reputable" companies haven't a clue what they are selling. I include Amazon and Screwfix amongst them. They diversify too much and I doubt they have the specialised expertise to understand every item they stock. That's why it's often safer to pay a few pennies extra and buy from a specialist, rather than a "stack em high and sell em cheap" warehouse.
