Just had an electrician do loads of work to bring our bathroom up to date & fit new consumer unit with trips.

Now having a new gas wall mount boiler to replace the old one and it will be moved from a utility room to an adj toilet compartment with no washbasin... just a WC.

Currently the boiler gas supply has a 10mm earth wire that goes around the utility room to the incoming steel water service under the sink.

Now the boiler is in a separate compartment will the gas supply (that will now come directly from outside to the boiler without passing through the utility room) need earth bonding to the water supply in the other room.

Also will the gas supply/and or the boiler need separately bonding to the 15mm copper water supply for the toilet.

If the work needs doing we'll get the guy back but just wanted an idea first.

Now assuming that when you had the CU up grade it has been certified and installed to current BS7671.

As long as none of the metallic parts are extraneous conductive parts then they should not require bonding.

HOWEVER!! there is no reason why not to include supplementary bonding, at the end of the day the more bonding the better in my opinion.

The call is up to the person certifying the work

Thanks for that.

Yes all installed and whole house tested per the current regs with certificates/part P issued. Its a new RCD MCB consumer unit.

I'm doing some plasterboard stud walling in the room so probably will leave hime some conduit in the wall to save mucking it up if he decided to put any earths in.
