Hi,
Just to check that 4mm is ok for supplementary bonding. I suppose you could use 6 or 10 if that's all you have?

I was checking out my neighbours bathroom and instead of a continuous cable they have different bits of cable i.e. one cable from shower to feed pipe and another cable from feed pipe to hot and cold pipes.

Is this ok or is it better to use just one cable.

Does it make a difference to use different pieces of cable?

Thanks again

Craig

4mm is fine no problem with bigger. Personally I would use one continuous cable, but it's not a requirement. The regulations allow for a continuous copper pipe (ie soldered joints) to be used as part of the bonding.

For example your radiator could be bonded to the main cold water pipe by one cable, then an electric shower could be bonded to the same cold water pipe by another cable at the other side of the bathroom.

Thats what I thought.

They have compresion joints but then a cable across the joint

Thanks for your help
