When something needs to be earthed such as a jacuzzi motor, is it necessary to run the earthing cable directly to the earth block on the consumer unit or is it okay to attach the earth cable to the earth in the cable from the spur to the power supply of the jacuzzi using a junction box. The spur is from a single socket outside of the bathroom.

Hope that makes sense! :D

The whole of your bathroom pipework should be earth bonded so there will be no problem finding an earth. If there is no cross bonding  who put your bathroom in?

It is bonded but I've got a feeling the earth has been connected to the earthing of a socket outside of the bathroom (I guess whoever did it thought that the earth in a socket was as good as earthing directly to the earth block on the consumer unit). I'm not so sure and wanted to know if this is a problem.

I should think that is all the earth you will need. Provided of course it is earthed. As I have said before on these forums the only way to be sure is to have an earth loop impedence test carried out on you bathroom earth. Then you can be sure all is O.K.
