I have just purchased a new electric cooker and separate electric hob. In the manual the cooker says to use 2.5mm cable, my question is if it can use this size cable from the DP cooker switch can I use 2.5mm to feed the cooker switch from the consumer unit or do I still have to use 4mm or 6mm cable?

My second question depends on the answer to the first. If 2.5mm is ok then does than mean in theory that I can spur off from the ring main? Its a new cooker and I have heard that newer cookers are rated at 13A.

Any help would be appreciated before I run a new cable for the cooker as I have already run a 30A supply for the hob
