Electric Hob

I'm just wiring in new electric hob. There are connections for Earth, Neutral and 2 for Live (L1 and L2). Does this mean I need to run 2 6mm cables to it?

normally there is either 1 or 3 lives. is there a metal bar accross L1 and L2?

no there is no bar across. When i wired to just L1 only the left hand side of the rings worked!

whats the power ratings of it?

you might just need to use some 6mm^2 and link L1 and L2

it is 5.8kw. 2.9kw each side.

should be safe enough to use some 6mm to connect L1 and L2
