Hi - Not knowing much about electrics can anyone let me know if this is possible?

The plan is to have a socket in the shed to run a tumble dryer. As the shed is behind the garage, which already has sockets in, would it be possible for an electrician to take a spur from one of the sockets out to the shed?

That depends on how the garage itself is supplied, but one way or another there will be a way to get a socket in the shed.

Get quotes from 2 or 3 different electricians, ideally including at least one who's recommended personally by family/friends.

Probably a good idea to use a member of one of the trade bodies, even if the work isn't notifiable, as at least that gives you some come-back if they do a shoddy job
