Electric Piano

I have an electric piano which is powered by DC. It was working fine last night but this morning when I switched it on something was wrong. it made a dull, fuzzy sound when i first pressed the keys and now iot makes no sound at all.
Does anyone have any idea what the possibile causes could be?

When you say it is powered by dc do you mean it runs of batteries or a wall wart?

It runs off a plug but it needs a speacial plug with a transformer.

I think the first thing you need to do is confirm the power supply is giving you the correct output, with a multimeter.
