I moved into a house last summer that has a new combi boiler with a good pressure, but also an electric shower that was never very good, slow flow if you wanted it good and hot, made by MX (Inspiration 8.5). A plumber who was working in our house suggested that a thermostatic mixer would be better, and now that the electric shower has failed completely, I was about to install one. However, an engineer who was servicing the boiler told me that I'd be better off putting in a new electric shower.

Any thoughts?

COmbis break down, leaving you shower free. But they do give a better than electric shower when they work. 24 kW say.

Sound advice !!
Your combi will break down sooner or hopefully later meaning you will be minging for up to and sometimes over a week, especially if its over bank holidays.
Just adding my voice to the rest ..... enough said already
