Hi,

I have a 6mx7m Timber frame utility room at the bottom of my garden approx 70ft away. I will be running 16mm swa to it.

I have been thinking of ways to heat, I cant get gas to it, so will have to try the electric route.!!

Will electric underfloor heating be a viable option? Would it be better to have the type that needs to be tiled over, or the type that can have laminate flooring?.

The heating will only really be on for a couple of hours a day during the winter months. The room is double glazed, & is very well insulated. Are these types of heating systems cost efficient?

Any help would be appriciated.

Regards.

this is a wind up right?
you want to underfloor heat your SHED!!????
albeit a rather large shed and one fitted with DG..

and WHY can't you get gas to it?
have you asked over in the plumbing forum if it's viable.?
presumably you're having water down there as it's a utility room?

have you considered a ground source heat pump? that way you can have hot water and underfloor wet heating...
