:confused: I have bought a cottage in burgundy and although the electric meter is installed and I have power I need to rewire the house can I use the existing consumer unit and use english plugs and cable I also want to install a second consumer unit on the first floor can the previous owner was an electrician and has installed the water heater and one light and plug on the first floor I want to keep the heater connection if poss, but install lighting and power tottally, can I have some adviceI have installed electrics in England but never continental I am not qualified as a sparks Help :eek:

Advice 1) - take this to the "Electrics outside the UK" forum

Advice 2) - find an "ex-pat in France" forum and ask there - not only are French wiring regs different to ours, but they have laws about who can do stuff....
