I have an old redring plus 8s shower that has stopped working, the shower is about 12 years old, so I want to replace it with one similar.

The shower is an 8kw and I want to know if I would be able to fit an 8.5kw shower.

Cable is 12 years old, it might be okay, but then again it might not.

I'd suggest you get it tested and even if it's okay it might be an idea to get the cct put on a RCBO or an RCD.

That will make it safe, and future proof it for the new regulations due next year
