We've recently had our walls plastered including new metal corners trims. we're now painting, and whilst the walls have covered fine, the metal edge of the corner bead is still visible - the paint just isn't adhering to it. Seems to have affected the white walls much more than the coloured ones. Any advice on how best to cover this to blend with the walls? I wondered about smoothing caulk over the exposed metal and repainting, but felt there must be a better way. Obviously I am an amateur!

Thanks in advance!

White metal primer, then emulsion.
Could also be pva left on the bead in which case something like Zinsser 123 should sort it.
Try a small section first with metal primer you can get "primer for special metals" as galvanised metal is hard to get a good key on.

Fortress water based primer is available from the likes of B&Q

My link was the first that I came across.

I have used it on exterior galvanised metal recently. It did what it was supposed to. It was much cheaper than buying a 2.5L tin of zinc plumbate.

I do agree with @footprints , I think that you are talking about the corner angle bead. Ordinarily, it should not be obvious, but it may well have some PVA on it.

Thanks both! I wondered if some sort of primer or specialist paint might be needed. I’ve attached a pic for info - it is the corner bead.

I normally just 320 grade sand over and paint.

If you get troubles prime with coverstain. Spray can is easiest option.
