I've just put a stud partition wall in the bottom third of the bedroom. The partition consists of 3" by 2" studs, 50mm insulation (acoustic, thermal fireproof) 12.5mm plaster board, and skim coated either side.

Is it ok to have a socket installed on the bedroom side of the partition wall?

The other electrics in the en-suite will be low-voltage down lights, and a low voltage extractor fan.

Yes! It is outside the bathroom and there fore does not fall into any of the zones

Be careful Oharaf..........he said he put up a partition........he didn't mention a door.........what is the extent of the partition? If an open partition he is allowed a socket 3m horizontally from the boundary of zone 1

The partition runs across the full width of the room, with a door about 2 thirds along. There will be a shower (mixer thermo off the combi), a basin and wc.

Is it ok to run the earth bonding under the partition wall and floorboards and connect it the proposed socket earth.

Well the regs say it is ok...quote 'preferably close to the point of entry of extraneous-conductive-parts into such rooms'

However, if you are working to 17th edition and satisfy 3 pre-requisites you can do away with it:
1. All circuits in the room comply with requirements for automatic disconnection of supply.
2. 3o mA RCD protection is used throughout the area
3. All extraneous-conductive parts are effectively connected to the MET at the installation origin (protective main bonding to water, gas etc)
