Hi, can you guys advise please, I purchased seven oak veneered doors from a builders merchants and assumed( because I didnt see instructions otherwise) that I didnt have to have hinges on a particular side however when I tried to hang the doors I realised that the hinge screws wouldnt bite into the wood. I initialy thought that I had put hinges on wrong side however having drilled several test holes it appears that there is no hinge or lock side in fact there is an 8mm capping of oak around circumferance of door and other than this it is just the filling of a kind of large loose chipboard and this appears to soft for a screw to bite into surely the door is not meant to hang on 8mm of hardwood? please help Regards
