UPVC Door Hinge Fixings

My front door locking lever mechanism is catching on the door frame because my upper door hinges are loose. The door frame hinge screws are tight, but when trying to tighten the 3 x screws fixing the hinge to the door, they just rotate without purchase so will not tighten. I have tried fitting larger screws of the same length but they don't seem to be able to bite on anything.

Any tips? Cheers.

Hi,
to tight a screw in a wood frame you could also fill the hole with some wood plaster and little chippings
