Door hinge keeps coming loose - how can I fix it?

Hi,

My upvc door seems to be coming loose at the top hinge. I tighten it with an allen key, to pull the top of the door towards the hinge side which seems to last for a couple of days only for it to become loose again, and then starts catching on the frame and creating friction on the frame.

What I've noticed is that when I turn the allen key, it gets to a point where the hinge gap is closest - if I keep rotating, it then loosens up again. I seem to be able to keep rotating in the same direction, it never tightens like a normal screw - I think this is by design?

It's hard for me to search what the problem is because I don't know what these hinge types are called - I can't find anything on the web that looks similar in design, so hopefully these pictures will help.

This photo is the problematic hinge with the gap, see how the allen key nut sits in the middle of the hinge.

Compared with the middle hinge, where the gap is much narrower and the allen key nut sits to the right side away from the hinge gap (this one doesn't cause any problems).

Side view of the hinge with a screw in the middle - not sure what this is for?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Need new hinge
You could try and swap the middle hinge for the top one.

Open door.
Wedge under.
Swap hinges.

The hinge pin you are turning is like a cam, once you turn past 180° which would be your closest/tightest setting it then starts loosening for the next 180°, then it starts all over again however this adjustment is generally used for greater compression on the gasket, the side view which shows 2 Allen headed bolts is the lateral adjustment which I believe you need, these only turn 180° and moves the whole pin sideways, the dot helps you see where the loosest and tightest setting is, adjust each bolt a bit at a time as they don't like a full half turn in one go, the tiny screw in the centre just locks the pin in place to stop it riding up and out during use
