Erratic Hot Water

Have just a new pump, switch and prv fitted on my valiant ecotech plus 824 combi boiler at huge expense.

Before it failed last night I was getting constant hot water and heat. Now I am getting heating but a short burst of hot water and then nothing. Engineer claimed it is due scale in the system which will slowly flush itself through. Have I just been fobbed off or will it rectify itself?

Unless the system is cleaned then I dont see where he expects any dirt to go.

But the blame is with the installer who did not properly clean the system.

Worse, unless it is cleaned the new pump will wear out its bearings as well!

No filter fitted just reccomended I fit one and he just did a basic clean of the system availble when replacing the parts.

No but I know people who can fit the filter. Doen't help with the fact that I have shelled out £700 to have failled reapirs done!

Obviously been working cheap all these years.
