Could someone give me an approx estimate to cap a very tall chimney,

Had problems trying to find someone reliable so want to be forearmed with some knowledge as to costs and questions to ask.

Thanks

What do you mean by "cap"?

The stack looks to be vertical and in good condition, and the tall pot has an insert for gas or through air ventilation.

Why alter anything? Are there leaks or instability?

The stack at the ridge has two pots that require inserts.

The slate to the right of the tall stack has been badly repaired where it meets

the valley - this requires attention.

This has been done and flashing sealed around stack.

So, you want to find and fix any leaks on, through or around the tall stack - is this what you mean by capping?
