Hi all

Posted in the plastering section but could use some more advice here if possible.
New house so lots of DIY. One has been to reseal the shower pan. Previous owner said they had a small leak 5+ years ago which got fixed by homeserve then they had a new bathroom fitted a year later.

I noticed some of the artex was a bit flakey in lounge ceiling, right below the shower area. I've now removed some it so that I can check for any leaks. Been using that shower most days for a week.

Pic below shows it may been repaired but also looks in quite poor state. was able to push some of it in with my thumb.
I'm not seeing any clear wet patches but the nail in the pic is going into floorboard so would expect damp further up? Worth me cutting in deeper or just fill/fix it up, and see how things look in a few months?

Thanks

Looks dry now, the water will have softenen the plasterboard. Get a phone- connected endoscope from ebay. You only need a small hole which is easy to fill. You'll be using it a lot once you have it.
