Expansion Gap Around Kitchen Units?

Hi. Laminate flooring is going in kitchen around the units. The flooring will be laid just past the plinths. How are the cuts done around the units? For example around the end panels etc...?

It's a small kitchen and I really don't wanna leave a stupid size expansion gap at the units - like how you would around the room where the skirting goes.

I'm thinking no more than a 3mm gap and silicone it? But I've seen people leave no gap at all since its wood-on-wood contact?

Cheers.

Trim plinths/kick boards down and install flooring under them. Silicon after.

Table saw/jig saw/etc.

Ahhh. Mine are screwed to the side of my unit and Sorta float (don't touch the floor) and silicone

With that said too. I'm just insulating the utility room area of my kitchen, and lifted the laminate (2 years old) it was soaked underneath so I've binned it (got two spare packs)... I'm thinking I might actually tile the floor instead, as it's obviously from the mopping, which needs to be done in the kitchen.

Take the end boards off, fit the floor and trim the end boards over the top of the new floor.
