Hi

I am in the process of fitting new fascia board. I have done one side of the house, but have recently read that there should be a 5mm expansion joint.

Should this be at both ends of the board and is it critical that this is followed. The sections that I have done so far only have the joint at one end.

Thanks

Hi

Does anyone know if the colour makes a difference?

Wanted to try and get cracking tomorrow on the other side.

Thanks

Sorry you fell off the radar there for a bit!

Anyway, darker colours are more prone to movement but i have not witnessed any problems with white thus far. We haven't used expansion joints in the past and have not noticed any prob's.

Wisdom would say leave a gap though...... ;)

If its a cold day leave 5mm at one end and 4mm at either end for woodgrains/blackgrains.

All the creaking and cracking on a hot day is usaully done by the guttering :)
