Hi i'm having an extension built. I have a builder working on a day rate for me with me buying and supplying the materials is there a way of claiming the vat back on the materials I buy??? any advice would be greatly appreciated.[/b]

Building and construction work is usually VAT standard-rated but some alterations you make to a disabled person's home may qualify for zero-rating, which means that you do not charge VAT to your customer.
