I'm extending the kitchen, which has a solid concrete flood, and wanted a bit of advice.

The current floor is the original victorian one, so no dpc etc.

Should I dig up the existing floor and lay a new floor for the whole room?

Or

Should I just put a new floor down to the same level in the extension?

Mad, probably. I was just thinking of the cost saving, of removing old floor and additional new materials!

In the second scenario I meant, in the original footprint leave existing floor as it currently is, and only lay new floor in the extension.

There is precedence for this in B/R, as you can use total exposed perimeter value to calculate lower insulation levels if there is going to be issues with keeping the new floor the same level as the old adjoining floor.
