Hello,

My earlier thread on this board got me thinking...

Generally it's not a good idea to run more than one double or single socket on a spur unless there is an FCU before the first socket...but what's to stop someone plugging in a great big six socket extension lead into a socket on a spur, and then filling it up with electrical gear like a computer, monitor, speakers, printer etc etc!?

So many people must do this, without even realising

The extension lead is fused at (usually) 13A so the load is limited. It could almost be considered to be a fused spur. They have their place, but the cheap ones should be avoided. I've witnessed many go with a bang!
