Hi all,

Holding my hands up to installing an oil fired EXTERNAL boiler and I'm not OFTEC registered...!

I am however a GAS SAFE memeber, so here's my tale of whoe?!

Landed a nice job of full heating system and some building works. I plan to carry out the installation and get building control to come down commission boiler and sign it off, need to know which fire valve I require 65dec or 90dec..?

Talking to building control during the day is a nightmare "Sorry, all our officers are out on site!" Ahhh!!

Any advice please...

Thanks.

65 degree for boilers. Building control won't commission, you'll need a registered engineer for that, after which BC inspector can issue you a completion notice. (Assuming they know the procedure for oil installs. In my experience they're just as likely to ask for your Gas Safe details instead).
