I have a small porch I'm in the process of removing and it will become an open space.
I have the opportunity to externally insulate the highlighted wall below before applying slate tile cladding. The cladding is heavy (30mm in depth), so I have some concerns and I'm in two minds as to whether it's even worth doing?
I was thinking about adding a 25mm Celotex, cement board and then fixing the tiles.
Any thoughts as to whether it's worth doing and how best to tackle it? I'm, assuming I'd batten out the wall, cut fix insulation, cover with a hardiebacker cement board screwed to battens and stick tiles directly on top?. Do I need a moisture barrier?
