I need two extra fuseways for radial circuits supplying two storage heaters. I don't have any spare on my exising consumer unit. Can I add a smaller (say 3-way) consumer unit to the existing one? If so, do I need to get the electricity company to connect an additional set of 'meter tails'?

Firstly, with you saying storage heaters do you intend them to be on a "off peak supply" if so, your looking at getting in your local supplier to install a off peak meter.

Otherwise you can split the meter tails using 100A terminal blocks (Henly Blocks) and install your new board, but and there is always a but...this depends on if you have a main switch before your existing board so that you aint working live. So you may have to get in your local supplier anyway.
