I want to fit my bathroom extractor fan in the ceiling and vent it up what remains of the Chimney stack. This is currently open to the elements at the top. Would I be better off:
a
running ducting all the way up the chimney (3m approx) and then putting a cowl on this and getting it mortared round. Effectivley forming a sealed unit.
b Extracting in to the current chimney flue and simply adding a capped pot type assembly to the top to stop the rain coming in?
