Twenty quid for a multimeter??????????? The one I bought for general use (ohms, DC volts, AC volts - useless for current over 200mA) cost me £6.49 at the local bazaar-warehouse, but I will admit to paying more than £20 for a clamp meter!
It's a pleasure. But I think reading up on the fundamentals of electricity may be in order. Your Rapitest will never ever detect current. It will only detect voltage. Current only ever flows if there is a voltage (potential) and a load is placed across the voltage source.
Oh look - it's one of our resident SFBs who doesn't think that anybody (except me) should ever be criticised for anything they do, no matter how wrong it is.
