Hi Guys,

One of my Customer is regularly having the "classic" F22 error (low water in Appliance) on a turbomax plus 824E.
I always keep a lot of spares in my truck, so I replace the sensors on each side of the heat exchanger. Initially I thought it did the job, but I was called a few days later with apparently no improvement on frequency of F22.
Also had a spare pump (rather Lucky on this one), thought I'll give that a go, if it's really about bad water flow: same.
So I've heard about these new vaillant PCBs, supposidely more robust to F22, but my customer is a bit reluctant.

So do you also think I should get them a replacement PCB ?
For some parts, and when they're tight, I try to get them some second hand, that I check before fitting, but on this PCB, how to know what version it is ?

Keep fitting control boards till you get it right...Be sure to charge the customer for your learning curve..

I think you should do some proper diagnosis rather than relying on guesswork

I haven't charged anything so far, and wont until i fix their boiler.
Replacing NTC solved that problem in the previous 50 boilers or so that i fixed so far.
Im conscious about price hence my question about being sure its the PCB and finding the best price.
Diagnosing a pcb involves taking it out and sending it to a specialist which i dont think is gonna help on price.
I was only hoping that the wider community would have a better combined experience.

So you have been to 50 Vaillants showing F22 and cleared all with a new NTC ?

Its odd that I go to hardly any F22s.

Either a leaking diverter valve or an F75.
