Faulty timer - Ariston Microgenus 24 HE MFFI

Hi,

I've had an Ariston Microgenus 24 HE MFFI boiler for 4 years and it's been working fine until this winter. Problem is that the timer does not work properly and is always slow by several hours no matter how many times I reset it. This means that the central heating never comes on at the correct time - very frustrating.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? The manual is no help and I don't think this subject has been resolved before on this forum. Any pointers much appreciated. Thanks,
