Recently the boiler stopped firing up on both DHW and CH. When I moved the flame sensor electrode cable at the main board terminal the system roared into life and when held in position continued to work for 36 hours. The system then failed to start again - no spark. Checked APS to find poor cable terminal connections at main board. Repaired these and sparking and ignition were restored but the sparking continues after the boiler has lit. The flame sensor electrode and wiring to main board appear to be working - 18 volts returned to board from electrode when flames are present. Can this fault be cured other than by replacing the main board and, if not are there any checks that need to be made prior to fitting to avoid the board being damaged in the same way? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.
Mick.
