Daughters car has a problem with the Front wiper motor controls.
Intermmitant electrical fault.
Some times operation is OK.
Other times, will not switch on or will not switch off with Steering wheel control switch.

Any ideas / solutions would be appreciated

Not always an obvious fix, unfortunately.....you see, the wiper motor has a self park mechanism which parks the wipers even though the column switch is off, if you see what I mean - so the motor is in fact live for a while.
If you are handy with a multimeter, I'd disconnect the motor and turn the column switch on. You should get an indicated 12v on at least one of the connections, and try the switch a few times to try to prove that it is reliable.

John, I can't read your posts after login, they are not coming up on the screen?

Those wiper motors should have a built-in electric brake to stop the motor dead at the bottom. If it does not work properly, it may allow the wipers to go back up the screen and start the cycle again. Leaving you with no control.
If you try turning the key off at the bottom, if it's the brake the motor will not restart, when you turn the key back on?

My guess would be a motor assembly, but as John said check the switch first.
