fiat punto timing chains

my kids have a w regd 1.9 diesel punto - great car for their purposes
does it have a timing chain or belt
if a belt what would be the replacement intervals?
roughly what would that cost for a non-franchised outlet
any ideas

its a timing belt.
replacement interval is 72,000 miles or 6 years.
have had a couplke break a wee bit before this.
easy job, minimal special tools and can be done in under an hour.

would advise changing the tensioner and idler rollers, and maybe the water pump.
