Hi Everyone
I normally do my own brakes but I'm stuck here!
I am used to seeing castellated nuts with a split pin and the crown type of washer to lock the nut.
I went to take off the drums and the nut was covered in a steel cover like cheese wedge shapes that had to be bent back and the nut is made up of several thin concave / convex disks about 2mm thick.
I can see that because of the steel cover it is not possible to get a socket in to undo the bottom segments. (Hope that makes sense)
Can these be DIY'ed or is there a special tool?
Thanks
G.

The official way is to undo the 4 nuts at the back of the hub, and the drum comes away complete with the stub axle and bearing, leaving the brake shoes exposed...personally I just undo the big nut in the centre, complete with its locking disc, and pull the drum off. Cheers John
