Hi Guys,

You might have noticed that I seem to be asking a lot of questions regarding an unvented system for our property, even though I am not a qualified plumber/heating engineer. The problem i'm facing is that it's difficult to find heating engineers that a) actually know what they're talking about and b) give you a quote with a breakdown of what they are going to do. Getting a bit fed up with this, i've decided to do my homework, and decide on the best system for our needs. I'm finding it quite enjoyable learning about heating systems - Please bear with me with my questions, and if I ask silly questions, feel free to flame me!

btw, anyone in the London area who would like to come round and have a look at our requirements/give us a quote most welcome.

The problems with quotes is that often there is an acceptance rate of 1 in 10. People expect free quotes then they frequently make an issue over things when the work turns out to be more than could be reasonably expected at the time. Talk to some firms and if you want to go further offer to pay for their time to do the estimating and prepare a quote.

quotes are free but explanations cost time and money are you prepared to pay:cool:
