I've got a radiator cabinet made from MDF and would like to paint part of it the same colour as one of the walls.

I will prime and undercoat the cabinet with oil based paints first, would I then be able to paint part of the final coat with the emulsion I used to paint the wall or not?

You can, but cos its emulsion it will show all the brush marks in it. Best to paint it with Eggshell or Satin wood, oil based in the same colour of course, this will be more durable.
